OK. It will be the first writing in English.
I must to say that my English is really bad now, and also (I think it's logically) to understand English and to translate from English into Russian is easier, than to write and translate from Russian into English. Four or may be five years before my foreign languages were better, really better, but now they are not. So, if you see words or conctructions that are not correct, please, don't be afraid and tell me about it.))
Also I must to say, that 'promt' is my good friend, sometimes I see some words there, that words (to be trust with myself) I will underline.
That's all
My dear cruel Б.Сокрова asked me the first question:
English and Russian fanfiction: differencies, similarities, tendencies... Relations to the Canon and literature at all...
Before all I will tell you a top secret: I don't like English fanfiction. That has a logically explanation: sometimes I don't understand senses of heroes, some nuances of composition etc. Also the language of some texts is too difficult, I don't understand some idioms or phraseological units...
So I understand the Big Idea of the most part of the texts, but don't really think that I understand the latent sense or something, that author wants to say in his text. By the way, "HP" in English I was reading after Russian version. And only because of it I understand it, I think.))
Because of it I didn't translate any fics yet. But I really want! And I hope, that whenever it will become the truth, but not now - if I translate something bad, it will be really shame!))
OK. Fanfiction. In my personal opinion English fanfiction is more full. And better. Why (where is fucking question mark in English keyboard, huh? oh, here it is
)? Because "HP" is English book, yeah? I think, nobody says about England, English school, English people etc. so full and truthfully as the Englishman.
And at all I think, that both fanfictions (it's correct to say such?)) are very similar. Bad or good texts can be both in English and in Russian. And they are.
Tendencies... I don't know. Many people predict the death to the fandom. But fandom is alive and isn't going to die. I hope, it will never die. Because I love "HP", love fandom.
That all. I was write that text very long because don't know English keyboard.))
I hope I've answered the question.))

Should I point out/correct your errors or will you improve them yourself?
As for me, I like English fanfiction - in some sence: a fic can be really stupid and badly written, but contain kinks, and I can read it. In Russian fiction bad style and idiotic plot averts me immediately, but in an English one those mistakes are not so visible for me: my English still isn't as good as a native speaker's one. The same is with the movies: in a Russian film horrible actors' acting is really unbearable, but in an English-language movie we just don't notice if they play poorly or not.
That's why I read Russian fanfiction mostly for style, ideas and "literatur-ish-ness", and English one just for kinks.
Maybe I'd like to translate an English fic, but I'll really be ashamed of my choice.
Should I point out/correct your errors or will you improve them yourself?
If it's not difficult for you, I will be glad)
So, I understand, your position. In my opinion, inks are very important, too. But my great problem is to recognize my kinks in all text, that I understand only on 2/3
When in school we read Conan Doyle or Jack London, or Agatha Christie it was easier to understand, but now... All modern authors use modern lexicon, slang, and it's really awfully! For me, I mean)
And to speak frankly, I don't need to search kinks in foreign fics, because I have them in Russian fanfiction.)
About translation. I think, you're not right a bit in you decision not to translate fics. Nowadays there are so many bad translators, that all of your texts will be ideal, even if you will consider they're terrible.)) And I don't see any problem in perfectionism - if you will search the text, that will be really YOUR, that will be ideal for you, why don't you want to translate it? Even if it will be a hard work.
I mean, in my opinion your knowledges in English are very large, and I think that you must to try translation of literature. And fanfiction is a good way to begin. I think you will have a success)
About translation. Maybe I'll consider this option and try to translate... something... nice... from the Lord of the Rings fandom!
ok, I'll be waiting for)
And you really must to try translation. Fics on Lorf of the Rings is good, too)) Or... Don't you want to try something from Pride and Prejudice? It's my dream to read something from it))

Not bad! Rather good, I should say!

Don't know. I've never read the book to the end, shame, shame!

Really, I don't think so)) It's awfully.))
And Sence and Sensibility is very good, too) The problem is that there isn't many fanfiction on Osten. And there isn't any good fanfiction at all.
Don't know. I love Osten. I think, her books are the best women's literature. And I don't understand how her books my be boring.
